When I planned on spending three weeks over Christmas visiting my family in Oklahoma City, I had so many places I wanted to visit.
But then I spent the last two weeks of those three weeks with a stomach bug so bad I thought I might be dying, and most of my plans got scrapped.

But before I got sick, my little brother and I (who likes to refer to me as his little sister because he’s 6’5″) spent an afternoon walking around Martin Park Nature Center, which was beautiful even in winter. The park is 140 acres containing three (small) trails and multiple education facilities and events. It’s free to the public, and easily accessible by car with ample free parking.
These days, there are lots of places for fun outdoors around OKC, but growing up, Martin Nature Park was one of the first places people would go to enjoy a day out. I have many memories from my childhood skipping rocks and looking for turtles.
Here are my favorite pics from my trip this time:

Don’t Forget about Travel Insurance!
Whenever I go on a trip, I always make sure to get travel insurance!
The company World Nomads is the travel insurance company I always look to first, and I happily recommend them!
I always make sure to get travel insurance whenever I’m going to be over one hundred miles from home, in large cities where tourists can be the target of pickpockets, and anytime I’ll be doing outdoor adventure or beach activities.
It makes my life easier knowing if something should happen, I’ll be able to take care of it!

Great pics! Did you ever figure out why you were so sick? Glad it seemed to be nothing too serious even if it was long-lasting!
Lol I never did. Other people got sick too, but I don’t think I’ll ever understand why I got hit so hard. Thanks!
