Hi, I’m Stephanie Craig. Welcome to the History Fangirl podcast.
This is Episode 0, the ‘Start Here’ episode.
I just wanted to take a minute to share a bit about myself and the show before we get into the first interview. I am a history and travel blogger. I travel full time. I spend about half of the year in Sofia Bulgaria and the other half exploring new countries and cities.
I focus on historic sites, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, communist monument, hidden chapels, and any place else that is old, whether it’s interesting or beautiful or weird.
This show is an interview show. My guests are historians, academics, or other experts from places I’ve been. So often I’ll go somewhere and leave wanting to know more, and the show gives me an excuse to send an email off to either an old friend or maybe someone I met on my trip or sometimes a complete stranger and have them teach me more about the place that I want to share with you.
I’ve learned so much from the episodes I’ve already recorded, and I hope you learn something too.
This show is for both the history enthusiast who wants to learn more about historic places, but it’s also for a traveler who’s researching for an upcoming trip.
If you are interested in discussing the show further, each episode we will have a dedicated post on my website, historyfangirl.com, where you can ask questions share your thoughts or reactions and link back to your own photos from these great locations.
If you like the show please subscribe in iTunes or wherever else you get your podcasts. It would also be a great help if you would go into iTunes and rate and review the show. Whether you give it one or five stars is up to you, but please go and rate and review.
And that’s all I have to say before we dive in. Episode 1 is an interview with Mike Duncan from the history of Rome podcast where we discuss the Roman Forum.
Thank you so much for checking out the show.
